Cleaning Protection Tape

General information

PVC window profiles from aluplast are made of weatherproof, durable and easy-care material. The profiles are supplied from the factory with protective film or wrapped.

Correct cleaning with the correct use of approved cleaning agents is crucial for the long-term durability and appearance of your windows.

Cleaning agents can have different effects on PVC profiles: before using cleaning agents on a large area, you should therefore carry out a test on a non-visible or prominent area. Cleaning agents must never be left on PVC profiles for longer than 10 minutes at a time, as this could cause damage to the surface!

These cleaning instructions apply to both white and colored windows.

If you want to do it particularly well and safely, use the special care products from aluplast. You will find instructions for use printed directly on the containers.

Protective films

Despite all care taken during storage, processing and installation, in extreme cases protective films may partially or not at all detach from the profile. According to the specifications, protective films must be removed immediately after window installation on site, as the protective films may leave residues due to exposure to sunlight. The longer the profiles with protective films are exposed to the sun, the more difficult it is to remove the protective films. In this worst-case scenario, the cover film separates from the corresponding adhesive film: while the cover film can be removed, the adhesive film remains on the profiles.

Possible cleaning agents for white profiles:

Possible cleaning agents for colored profiles:

Procedure for film residues: first loosen a corner of the film so that a small amount of cleaning agent can be applied between the film and the substrate. Allow the cleaning agent to act briefly and remove the film. Repeat this process until the film is completely removed.

Procedure for adhesive residue: Apply cleaning agent to the surface with a soft, lint-free cloth and remove adhesive residue.
